Biden Highlights Job Creation and Cost Reductions at LGBTQ Awards
President Joe Biden doubled down on his administration’s economic record during a recent speech at the LGBTQ Awards, highlighting job creation and efforts to lower costs for Americans across the country.
Speaking to the audience, Biden reflected on a lesson he often attributes to his father as the guiding principle behind his presidency. “You’ve heard me say before,” Biden said. “My dad used to say, it’s all about whether you can look your child in the eye and say it’s going to be OK. That’s what I worked so damn hard to do during my administration.”
According to the president, the U.S. economy added 16 million new jobs during his four years in office. He also noted that unemployment fell to its lowest level in 50 years, drawing applause from the crowd.
Biden emphasized that his administration focused not only on employment but also on reducing everyday costs for families. “We lowered the price of everything from health care to the cost of college, to junk fees and airline tickets and credit cards,” he said.
