“BREAKING: Police Spot ‘Strange Detail’ in Michael McKee’s Testimony After He Describes Seven Rapid Gunshots”
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The man arrested for the murder of an Ohio couple appeared to have disappeared from Las Vegas in the months prior, according to a court filing, leaving no word of his whereabouts or method of contact after working in the area as a vascular surgeon.
Michael McKee is facing murder charges for the Dec. 30 deaths of his ex-wife Monique Tepe and her husband, Spencer, in Columbus, Ohio. He is awaiting extradition from Illinois.
Court records show a medical malpractice suit naming McKee as a co-defendant was filed in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas in 2024. A jury trial is scheduled to begin in July next year.
The plaintiff alleged a physician’s assistant performed a procedure for varicose veins in Las Vegas in 2023 when she accidentally broke off several inches of catheter and left it in his body.
McKee and another doctor were allegedly responsible for training the physician’s assistant, the suit argues, and they should be held liable for her conduct.
A motion filed this past November stated that the plaintiff’s attorney, Dan Laird, could not find McKee in order to serve him with the lawsuit.
Two process servers tried a home address in September and October, but nobody answered. In October, a former colleague told one process server that “he had no idea where McKee was and that he just ‘disappeared,'” the motion states.
The process server conducted more records searches and found a new address for an apartment, but the current occupant told him she didn’t know McKee.
The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners website shows that McKee’s license began in March 2023 and expired at the end of June last year.
“It has been told to a process server that MCKEE has disappeared, and a fax number was provided to the Nevada Medical Board rather than a phone number,” the motion states.
Laird requested more time to serve McKee, writing that he believed McKee was trying to avoid receiving the suit. The court was asked that mail service and a published notice be used to serve McKee.

Speaking with WSYX in Columbus, Laird said he received a fake address from McKee’s former surgery group. The attorney said it’s unusual for doctors not to leave contact information if they move, and he was surprised nobody represented McKee for malpractice insurance purposes.
