FBI Director Kash Patel Announces 8,629 Arrests in Nationwide Operation
Washington, D.C. – FBI Director Kash Patel has revealed the stunning results of a three-month nationwide law enforcement effort known as
“Operation Summer Heat.”
Between June 24 and September 20, all 55 FBI field offices took part in an unprecedented push to crack down on violent crime, gang activity, and drug trafficking across America.

- ➡️ 44,559 kg of cocaine and 421 kg of fentanyl confiscated — enough fentanyl to kill 50 million Americans
- ➡️ 1,053 child victims identified or rescued
“We are not messing around,” Patel said. “If you hurt a child, we’re coming for you. If you jack a car, we’re coming for you. If you’re poisoning our neighborhoods with deadly drugs, we’re coming for you.”
Attorney General Pamela Bondi praised the operation, saying: “We are grateful for Director Kash Patel and our brave FBI agents who removed more than 8,600 violent offenders from our streets this summer. Under President Trump’s directive to make America safe again, this Department of Justice will continue prosecuting violent crime and dismantling criminal gangs.”
The FBI concentrated resources in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Memphis, and Miami. In those areas alone, 417 arrests were made and 159 firearms seized.
Other highlights included:
- The arrest of three suspects in Philadelphia for a $2 million armored truck robbery
- A Kansas City ring involved in car theft, homicides, and armed robberies
- More than 30 fugitives wanted for murder captured
Amid the praise, Director Patel is facing backlash for the firing of nearly 20 FBI agents who were photographed kneeling during a 2020 protest after the death of George Floyd.
