Fetterman Apologizes For Dems Who Can’t Get ‘S**t’ Together Amid Shutdown


WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) delivered a blunt and emotional apology on Thursday, breaking from his party's leadership to condemn the ongoing government shutdown that has now entered its fourth week. Speaking with CNN’s Manu Raju, Fetterman admitted his party bears responsibility for a "failure" that is now leaving 42 million Americans without food assistance.

The federal government has been shuttered since late January over a deadlock regarding the expiration of Obamacare subsidies, which were originally pandemic-era tax credits. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has instructed his caucus to hold the line until the subsidies are extended, while Republicans are demanding a "clean" funding bill to reopen the government first.
