Mitch McConnell's Replacement Revealed After Senate Vote - President Donald Trump Notified
Washington D.C. — The top three Republican candidates running to replace longtime U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell took the stage Monday night at the Henry Clay event center in downtown Louisville for the first Republican primary debate. McConnell announced earlier this year that he won’t seek reelection in 2026 after more than 40 years in office.
Rep. Andy Barr, former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron and businessman Nate Morris are facing off in the Republican primary. The GOP hopefuls all support President Donald Trump.
The debate offered voters an opportunity to hear the candidates discuss their positions on key issues.The candidates were asked about Trump’s military actions against Iran and when Congress should get involved.
Barr said the president has the legal authority as commander in chief to defend the country. He voted against a recent War Powers Act resolution.
Cameron took a similar stance. He praised Trump’s decisive action compared to Biden and Obama.
Morris said it is really simple. He trusts this president because of the results he has gotten for the American people. He stands by him 100%.
Another question dealt with Trump’s aggressive enforcement of immigration laws.
Cameron said folks in neighborhoods want to be able to sleep soundly in their homes. He would withhold federal funding from sanctuary states and cities.
Morris said he has called for a full moratorium on any new immigration until every single illegal that came in under Joe Biden is deported. He said they were invaded and they all gotta go back.Barr said he has tripled ICE funding and supported the toughest border security in history because we need to protect the American people first.
The primary is among this year’s most competitive. The GOP hopefuls hope to land Trump’s endorsement in a state that Trump overwhelmingly carried in recent elections.

The child began singing softly in a tiny trembling voice.

The father slowed down in confusion.
The dog’s growling weakened.
Its ears slowly lowered.
The heavy chain stopped rattling completely.
Even the wind seemed quieter now.
The boy kept humming softly while reaching one tiny hand toward the massive animal.
Nobody breathed.
The dog stepped closer.
Not angry anymore.
Sad.
Its eyes looked almost human beneath the fading sunlight.
Then slowly—
the animal dropped something into the dirt at the boy’s feet.
An old child’s shoe.
Covered in dried mud.
The father looked down—
and all color vanished from his face instantly.
His knees nearly buckled.
Because he recognized the shoe.
“No…” he whispered.
“That belonged to your brother…”
The little boy slowly lifted his eyes toward him while the dog began whining softly beside him.
And suddenly—
the father realized the dog had never been trying to attack children.
