From the ballroom below, the mansion still echoed with celebration.
Soft violins drifted through the air.
Crystal glasses chimed.
Laughter rolled across the marble halls.
It sounded like the perfect wedding.
But upstairs...
Everything was falling apart.
At the end of a dim hallway, beside a dark oak staircase, the maid stood frozen outside a locked bedroom.
Tears streamed down Lena's face.
One trembling hand rested against the door.
As though her body alone could shield the frightened child trapped inside.
Footsteps thundered across the staircase.
Adrian.
Still wearing his black tuxedo.
Still wearing the wedding ring he had slipped onto his bride's finger only minutes earlier.
Lena pointed desperately.
"Sir... she locked him inside!"
Adrian's expression hardened.
He reached for the doorknob—
But his bride stepped into his path.
Her silver-white gown shimmered beneath the chandelier.
Diamond earrings sparkled against her pale face.
"She's lying," she said quickly.
"I would never hurt him."
Her smile appeared...
Then vanished.
Her voice betrayed her.
Adrian never looked away.
"Tell me exactly what happened."
Lena fought back tears.
"I heard him crying."
"He kept screaming for his father."
Without another word...
Adrian threw the door open.
The little boy burst out.
His tiny suit was wrinkled.
His face was soaked with tears.
His whole body shook with fear.
Adrian instinctively opened his arms.
"My son—"
But the child didn't run to him.
He sprinted straight past his father...
...and buried himself inside Lena's embrace.
Silence.
Adrian slowly lowered his hands.
His own son hadn't run from the maid.
He had run from the bride.
Then the boy sobbed the words that shattered the wedding forever.
"She said... I would ruin the wedding."
The bride's face turned ghost white.
Lena held the trembling child tighter.
He pointed straight at the woman in the wedding dress.
Still crying.
Still terrified.
Adrian slowly turned toward his wife.
His confusion disappeared.
Only fury remained.
"You locked my son away... from his own father?"
She stumbled backward.
"He was emotional."
"I didn't want him causing a scene."
"A scene?"
Adrian's voice cut through the hallway like steel.
The little boy looked up through his tears.
"She said... if I stayed quiet..."
"...Daddy would love her more."
Every word struck like a blade.
Lena closed her eyes.
Her voice barely rose above a whisper.
"He told me..."
"...she scares him whenever no one is watching."
Adrian froze.
Memories rushed back all at once.
Every time his son suddenly fell silent.
Every time the boy refused to stay alone with her.
Every forced smile she wore whenever others were looking.
He had mistaken manipulation...
...for kindness.
The wedding hadn't created the monster.
It had only exposed her.
Then the little boy whispered one final sentence.
The sentence that silenced the entire mansion.
"She said..."
"...Mommy's gone."
"...So I don't matter anymore."
No one spoke.
No one moved.
Because this was no longer about a locked bedroom.
May you like
It was about a grieving child...
...who had been emotionally destroyed long before his father's wedding day.
