Chapter 7 - The Final Season

Years passed. We were stronger, older, and deeply rooted in each other. Julian had officially stepped back from the syndicate, handing the reins to Marcus, who had proven himself to be a capable and disciplined successor. We were just Julian and Nadia—a man who loved his chef, and a woman who had finally found the secret ingredient to her own life.

We married in the garden of my mother’s home, with no socialites, no media, and only the people who had stood by us when the fire was hottest.

"I never thought I'd find this," Julian said, standing under the trellis.

"I never thought I'd allow myself to find it," I said, holding his hand.
