Chapter 9 - The New Beginning

Six months later.
The sun shone brightly over Carson Ridge Ranch.
A large white marquee tent had been set up on the green lawn beside the main house, decorated with white ribbons, yellow roses, and wooden tables laden with food. Over a hundred guests—neighbors, ranchers, Federal Marshals, Agent Lin, and Jim Harrison—had gathered under the clear blue sky.
Standing at the wooden altar near the oak trees was Luke Carson, wearing a crisp black suit, a white rose pinned to his lapel. Beside him as his best man stood Jim Harrison, holding a silver ring box.
Music began to play from a violin quartet set up near the garden.
Walking down the aisle in a simple, beautiful ivory lace dress was Sarah Miller, carrying a bouquet of wild Texas flowers. Her face was radiant, glowing with a serene, absolute happiness.
Preceding her down the aisle was eleven-year-old Maddie, serving as the maid of honor, looking stunning in a dark green dress, her head held high with pride.
And walking right beside Sarah, wearing a tiny black tuxedo with a polished dinosaur pin on his lapel, was seven-year-old Oliver—serving as the official ring bearer.
As Sarah reached the altar, Luke stepped forward, taking her hands in his.
Jim Harrison stepped up to officiate the ceremony, his deep, resonant voice filling the sunny air.
“Friends and family,” Jim began, smiling at the crowd. “We are gathered here today to witness not just the union of two people, but the restoration of a family. Life often brings storms that tear away our shelter and test our faith. But true strength is found when we choose to build a new home out of the ruins of the past.”
After the vows were spoken and the rings exchanged, Jim looked at the couple.
“By the authority vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Luke, you may kiss your bride.”
Luke pulled Sarah into his arms, kissing her deeply as the entire crowd erupted into thunderous applause and cheers.
Maddie and Oliver rushed forward, throwing their arms around Luke and Sarah’s waists. Luke leaned down, scooping Oliver up in his left arm and pulling Maddie close with his right, creating a tight, unbreakable circle of four.
