Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Glass

Ten years later.

The grand dining room of L'Étoile du Nord was as glittering and exclusive as ever, filled with wealthy patrons sipping champagne beneath the crystal chandeliers.

At a corner table near the window sat a tall, seventeen-year-old young man with sharp green eyes and a confident, easy posture, dressed in a sharp blazer. Across from him sat a woman with warm eyes and a gentle smile, and a distinguished silver-haired man who looked every bit the successful, grounded philanthropist.

Leonard Bronski picked up his crystal water goblet, swirling the ice cubes inside with complete calm.

“Remember when you broke one of these here, Leo?” Adam asked, a nostalgic smile touching his lips as he looked around the room.

Leonard chuckled, taking a sip of water. “I remember. Dad, I was seven. Can we please stop bringing it up at every family dinner?”

“Never,” Laura grinned, sliding a bread basket toward him. “It’s historical family lore. The day the billionaire’s son taught the billionaire how to be a father by destroying a five-star place setting.”

Adam laughed, reaching across the table to wrap his arm around Laura’s shoulders, pulling her close. Then he looked at his son—smart, kind, resilient, and completely unafraid of showing what he felt.

The restaurant around them hummed with the usual chatter of wealth and ambition. But at their table, there was no tension, no fear, and no invisible walls.

Adam looked down at his water glass, untouched and perfectly safe on the pristine white tablecloth. He didn't care about the porcelain that had broken ten years ago.

Because out of those jagged pieces of shattered glass, they had finally built something unbreakable.
