Chapter 7 - The Battle of Brooklyn

That night, the Brooklyn docks were enveloped in a thick, rainy fog.

Inside an abandoned sugar refinery on the waterfront, Anthony 'The Hammer' Moretti sat surrounded by fifteen heavily armed soldiers, celebrating the destruction of Dominic’s trucks.

“Hale is weak!” Moretti laughed, slamming a glass of bourbon on a crate. “He’s spending his time playing house with some fat waitress from Queens! The King of Belmont is finished!”

Suddenly, the refinery’s heavy steel doors were torn open with a deafening explosion.

Flashbang grenades detonated inside the room, filling the space with blinding light and disorienting noise.

Before Moretti’s men could recover, Dominic Hale’s strike team swept into the refinery like shadows.

Heavy gunfire erupted through the fog.

Dominic walked through the front doors, firing with terrifying, precise accuracy. He didn't take cover. He didn't shout. He moved like a grim reaper through the smoke, clearing the room with surgical efficiency alongside Marco and Leo.

Within six minutes, all fifteen of Moretti’s soldiers were disarmed, wounded, or flat on the floor.

Anthony Moretti lay trapped against a brick pillar, a bullet hole through his shoulder, bleeding profusely.

Dominic walked up to him, stepping over shattered glass, his gun held at his side.

Moretti looked up at Dominic with wild, terrified eyes.

“Hale...” Moretti wheezed, clutching his shoulder. “Please... it was just business... we can make a deal—"

Dominic pressed the cold barrel of his gun directly against Moretti’s forehead.

“You burned my trucks,” Dominic said, his voice deep, hollow, and terrifying. “You threatened my neighborhood. And worst of all... you spoke Clara’s name with your filthy mouth.”

Moretti began to weep, shaking with terror. “I’m sorry! God, I’m sorry!”

Dominic lowered the gun slightly, leaning close to Moretti’s ear.

“You are going to sell all your properties in New York,” Dominic commanded quietly. “You are going to take your men and leave this state by sunrise tomorrow. If I see your face in New York again, I won't shoot your shoulder.”

Dominic stood up, gesturing to Marco.

“Seize his docks. Transfer the deeds to our legal holding company.”

Dominic turned and walked out of the smoking refinery into the rain, leaving the shattered Brooklyn empire behind him forever.
