Chapter 10 - The Horizon Ahead
That evening, after the crowds had cleared and the city lights began to reflect off the glass facade of the arts center, Sophia and Arthur walked along the riverfront path.
The Chicago wind was cool and crisp, carrying the promise of a new season.
Arthur adjusted his coat against the breeze, glancing sideways at his sister. "So, Commissioner of Municipal Planning just called my office. They want you to head the new waterfront revitalization project across the entire North Side."
Sophia stopped walking, turning to look at her brother with a mix of surprise and excitement. "That's a five-year master plan. Are you sure our firm is ready?"
"Soph," Arthur laughed, putting a protective arm around her shoulders. "After what you survived in Connecticut, there is nothing in this city—or this country—that you aren't more than qualified to build."
