Chapter 4 - The 4:00 AM Avalanche

By 3:30 AM, Zuri was sleeping peacefully in a private, guarded room on the pediatric floor, under Dr. Lin's personal protection.
I sat in the hospital's private lounge with my laptop, a cup of black coffee, and a encrypted satellite uplink provided by my employer's corporate compliance team.
I drafted a master legal dossier titled: THE HOLLOWAY ESTATE INCIDENT: SYSTEMIC CHILD ABUSE & JUDICIAL MISCONDUCT.
To the dossier, I attached:
Certified forensic medical reports and high-resolution assault photos from Northwestern Memorial.
The twelve raw, unedited 4K video clips captured by the guests' own phones.
Audio files from the house security system capturing Kellen’s exact words.
A complete list of all sixty guests present, cross-referenced with their corporate positions, judicial appointments, and political affiliations.
At 4:15 AM, I hit SEND.
The file was delivered simultaneously to:
The Office of the Special Prosecutor for the Department of Justice.
The Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board.
The Board of Directors of Holloway Global Capital.
The Chief Executive Officers of five major Wall Street investment firms connected to Marcus.
The executive producers of NBC, CBS, CNN, and The New York Times.
By 5:00 AM, the first domino fell.
I sat in the dim light of the hospital room, watching the early morning news broadcast on the wall-mounted television.
The screen suddenly flashed red: NATIONAL BREAKING NEWS.
An anchor with a solemn face appeared. "We are receiving shocking reports and verified video footage regarding a high-society Christmas Eve incident involving billionaire hedge fund manager Marcus Holloway..."
The screen cut directly to the footage.
The nation watched in collective horror as Marcus kicked my daughter. They heard Kellen's brutal shout. They saw Judge Vance laughing in his tuxedo.
Within twenty minutes, social media erupted into a global storm of rage. #JusticeForZuri and #BoycottHolloway became the top trending topics worldwide.
At 5:45 AM, my phone began to ring.
It was Judge Vance's senior clerk. I let it go to voicemail.
Then Kellen called six times in a row. Blocked.
At 6:15 AM, as the first rays of sunrise turned the snowy sky a pale pink, Marcus Holloway called my personal number from his private line.
I answered, placing the phone on speaker beside Zuri's bed.
"Laura," Marcus said. His voice was no longer calm, smooth, or arrogant. It was trembling, cracked, and breathless with absolute panic. "Laura, what have you done? Delete those videos! My board just called an emergency meeting! The federal marshals are at my gate!"

I looked at my daughter, who opened her eyes softly and smiled at me.
"Good morning, Marcus," I said ice-cold. "How does it feel to be locked outside?"
