One year later.
A new bronze plaque was installed on the wall just beside the swinging kitchen doors in Ballroom C of the Halcyon Grand Hotel.
It was subtle, polished, and beautifully engraved.
It didn't bear the name of a corporate sponsor or a wealthy donor.
It read simply:
TABLE FOURTEEN

Every year on the third Friday of October, Brightwell Data Partners and Apex Hospitality hosted a joint celebration in Ballroom C.
And every year, without exception, the Chief Technology Officer and his wife reserved Table Fourteen.
They didn't sit there out of spite or memory of a fallen bully.
