CHAPTER 1 — THE MAN WHO CHANGED EVERYTHING

The mansion doors slammed open so hard the walls seemed to shake.

Aurexon stood in the center of the hall.

Rain clung to his coat.

His gaze swept across the room like a blade.

And then he saw her.

The woman—his wife.

Standing barefoot on marble floor.

Her suitcase beside her.

And the stepmother—Vivian—holding a glass of wine like she still owned the house.

“Dad,” one of the children whispered.

That word changed everything.

Aurexon didn’t speak at first.

He just looked.

At the scattered papers.

At the forced signatures.

At the woman trembling in the middle of it all.

Then he asked quietly:

“What is going on here?”

Vivian stepped forward instantly, smiling.

“Darling, she’s been unstable. She tried to take the children—”

“Stop.”

One word.

Cold.

Final.

Aurexon walked forward.

Each step heavier than the last.

Until he reached the coffee table.

He picked up a document.

Then another.

Then another.

His expression slowly changed.

Not confusion.

Recognition.

Because he saw the pattern.

Forgery.

Asset manipulation.

Insurance redirection.

Everything had one signature behind it.

Vivian’s.

But worse—

his wife had been erased from accounts entirely.

Aurexon turned his head slightly.

“Did you touch her name?”

Vivian laughed softly.

“It’s all for the family stability.”

Aurexon didn’t react.

He just looked at her.

And something in his silence felt worse than shouting.

Then he spoke again.

“Where are my children?”

The twins stepped forward immediately.

The youngest clung to his sleeve.

They were safe.

They were watching.

Waiting.

And then—

his daughter pointed at Vivian.

“She yelled at Mom.”

That was it.

Something inside Aurexon shifted.

May you like

The air in the room changed.

The kind of silence that follows before collapse.
