CHAPTER 2 — THE TRUTH IN THE FILES

Aurexon didn’t raise his voice.
He didn’t need to.
He simply said:
“Bring me the security logs.”
His assistant froze.
“Sir—”
“Now.”
Minutes later, screens lit up across the living room.
Footage.
Audio.
Records.
And there it was.
Vivian entering financial rooms.
Vivian speaking with legal officers.
Vivian authorizing transfers.
Vivian smiling while signing documents in his name.
The wife stepped back slowly.
“I tried to tell you,” she whispered.
Aurexon didn’t look away from the screen.
He said quietly:
“I know.”
That made everyone freeze.
Even Vivian.
“You… what?” she asked.
Aurexon turned.
His expression was different now.
Calm.
Dangerously calm.
“I installed secondary tracking after the first discrepancy.”
Silence hit like a gunshot.
Vivian’s smile cracked.
“You were watching me?”
Aurexon nodded once.
“Yes.”
Then added:
“I just needed proof.”
He tapped the tablet.
A file opened.
Title:
UNAUTHORIZED WEALTH REDIRECTION — VIVIAN HARROW CASE
The guests in the room—lawyers, advisors, staff—started stepping back.
Because now they understood.
This was not a family argument.
This was a dismantling.
Vivian’s voice sharpened.
“You wouldn’t destroy your own family.”
Aurexon finally looked at her fully.
“You already did that.”
He walked forward.
Placed the tablet on the table.
“And you made the mistake of thinking I wouldn’t notice.”
Then he turned to his wife.
For the first time, his voice softened.
“Are you hurt?”
She shook her head.
But her eyes were full.
Not fear.
Relief.
Vivian suddenly raised her voice.
“She has nothing without me!”
Aurexon turned slowly.
“That’s where you’re wrong.”
A pause.
Then he said:
May you like
“She has me.”
And the room went silent again.
