Chapter 10 - Forever Unbroken

The sun began to set over the Pacific Northwest, casting a golden glow over the green hills of the Morgan Family Estate in the outskirts of Seattle.

The sprawling mansion—built by Alexander and Nicholas to serve as the permanent ancestral home for the Morgan family—was lit up with warm, welcoming lights.

Inside the grand dining room, a long oak table was laden with delicious food, fresh flowers, and crystal glasses.

Mr. Wilson—now eighty years old, living comfortably in a beautiful guest house on the Morgan estate with full-time care provided by the family—sat at the head of the table, laughing warmly as Hope showed him her latest painting from school.

“Look, Mr. Wilson!” Hope said proudly. “I painted our house! And look, here’s you with your cane!”

“It’s the most beautiful painting I’ve ever seen, little lady,” Mr. Wilson smiled, his eyes twinkling with affection. “You’re a true artist.”

Sarah walked into the dining room, setting down a roasted dish, her face illuminated by the soft glow of the chandelier.

Alexander stood near the fireplace, pouring a glass of fine red wine, while Nicholas finished setting the silver cutlery.

They sat down together—not as corporate titans, not as figures of fear, but simply as a family.

“A toast,” Alexander said, raising his glass high.

Everyone picked up their glasses, even little Hope with her cup of sparkling apple cider.

Alexander looked at Mr. Wilson first. “To Mr. Wilson. The man who handed a bleeding girl a phone when the rest of the world looked away.”

Mr. Wilson bowed his head humbly. “It was my honor, son.”

Alexander then looked at his brother. “To Nicholas. The shield that never broke.”

Nicholas nodded with a quiet, warm smile.

Finally, Alexander looked at Sarah and Hope.

“And to Sarah and Hope,” Alexander said, his voice thick with deep, unshakeable love. “The heart of our home. The proof that no matter how deep the storm, no matter how cold the rain... the sun always comes back.”

“To family!” Nicholas added.

“To family!” Hope squealed happily, clinking her little plastic glass against theirs.

“To family,” Sarah whispered, taking a sip, feeling the deep, radiant warmth spreading through her soul.

Outside the grand glass windows, the rain began to fall soft and gentle over the pine trees of Seattle.

But inside the house, the fire burned bright, the laughter echoed long into the night, and the woman who had once been thrown out onto a freezing curb sat surrounded by the men who would move heaven and earth to keep her safe forever.

The storm was over.

The crown was reclaimed.

And Sarah Morgan was finally, truly, unconditionally home.
