CHAPTER 5: The Aftermath and Retaliation

The rescue was a success, but Vincent knew the war wasn't over. The Bratva syndicate wouldn't take the destruction of their operation lightly. He brought Elena back to Il Nido, reuniting her with Lily in an emotional, tear-filled embrace that made even his toughest enforcers look away to clear their throats.

But as the sun began to rise, Vincent’s lead informant brought disturbing news. The top boss of the rival syndicate, a ruthless man known as "The Broker," had caught wind of the raid and was mobilizing a massive hit squad to wipe out Vincent's restaurant and reclaim their "property."

"They're coming here, Boss," Frankie reported, checking his ammunition. "They know the mother and kid are inside. They're bringing everything they have."

Vincent looked back at the kitchen, where Elena was holding Lily tightly, feeding her soup. They were safe for the moment, but as long as The Broker drew breath, they would always be running.

"We don't wait for them to come to us," Vincent said, lighting a cigar. "We end this tonight. Set a trap. We make them think we are vulnerable, lure them into the valley, and bury them."

Vincent leaked the information that he was moving the mother and daughter to a safehouse in the secluded countryside. True to form, three blacked-out SUVs followed the decoy convoy into a narrow, walled canyon road just outside the city limits.

It was a perfect kill zone.

As soon as the rival vehicles entered the canyon, Vincent's men detonated explosive charges, collapsing boulders behind and in front of the convoy, trapping them entirely. From the ridges above, Vincent's crew opened fire. It wasn't a battle; it was a total liquidation of the threat. The Broker’s entire vanguard was eliminated in minutes, cementing Vincent’s absolute rule over the city and ensuring no one would ever dare cross his borders again.
