Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Circle

That evening, the Vance Estate hosted an intimate family dinner in the grand dining room.
The long mahogany table was decorated with fresh white lilies, glowing candles, and fine porcelain.
Sitting around the table were Arthur, Claire, Eleanor, Dr. Sterling, Marco, and several long-time trusted members of the Vance family who had protected them for decades.
At the head of the table, sitting in a high chair beside her grandfather, little Maya was busy smearing mashed sweet potatoes across her tray, babbling happily as Arthur dutifully wiped her chin with a silk napkin.
Eleanor raised her glass of vintage wine, standing up to address the room.
"A toast," Eleanor announced, her voice warm and resonant. "To the Vance family. We have weathered storms, fought off enemies, and protected our blood for three generations. But tonight, we toast to the future—to Claire, whose courage remade our legacy, and to little Maya, who brings light to everything we touch."
"To Claire and Maya!" the entire table chorused, clinking their glasses together under the warm glow of the chandelier.
Claire stood up, raising her glass toward her father.
"And to my father," Claire added, her voice full of deep emotion. "The man who answered the phone when I was broken, who picked me up out of the storm, and who showed me what a true father’s love looks like."
Arthur looked up at his daughter, his eyes shining with proud, happy tears. He raised his glass toward her, a deep, peaceful smile spreading across his face.
"To family," Arthur whispered softly. "Unbroken, forever."

Outside, the quiet night air was warm and still. The stars shone brightly over the grand estate, casting a peaceful, protective light over the house that had survived the storm and emerged stronger than ever before.
Inside, the laughter of a happy child filled the room, replacing every shadow of the past with an everlasting promise of love, justice, and home.
