Chapter 10 - The Harvest of Love

Three years later, the Santa Barbara ranch was in full bloom.
The white rose garden had expanded into a massive, thriving nursery. Margaret’s health had completely returned. She had gained back her healthy weight, her skin was glowing, and her laughter once again filled the hallways of their beautiful home.
She had become a beloved figure in the local community, teaching gardening classes to young children and donating fresh vegetables from her greenhouse to local food banks.
Ethan had returned to his company, but with a new perspective. He restructured his real estate empire, focusing on building affordable, high-quality housing for low-income families and funding state-of-the-art retirement communities where elderly citizens could live with dignity and respect.
One evening, the sun was setting over the Pacific Ocean, painting the sky in shades of gold and violet.
Ethan and his mother sat on the porch, sipping tea. The scent of sweet white roses filled the warm evening breeze.
“Ethan,” Margaret said, looking at her son with soft, proud eyes.
“Yes, Mom?”
“We’ve come a long way from selling pies on the street corner, haven’t we?” she smiled, holding his hand. Her hand was warm, strong, and no longer trembling.
Ethan smiled, leaning his head against her shoulder.
“We have, Mom. But no matter how far we go, I will always be the boy who loves your cinnamon bread.”

Margaret laughed, a sound of pure, unburdened joy.
The nightmare was over. The monsters were gone, locked away in the dark. In the warmth of the California sun, surrounded by the flowers she had always dreamed of, Margaret was finally home—safe, loved, and revered as the queen she had always been.
