Chapter 8 - The True Celebration

Six months after the engagement party that shook Seattle to its foundations, the Hawthorne estate hosted another celebration. But this time, there were no crystal chandeliers blinding guests with false pretenses, no high-society investors looking for corporate leverage, and no artificial perfection designed for the tabloids.

It was an intimate, beautiful garden wedding held beneath a canopy of blooming white roses and ancient maple trees.

Only close friends, trusted colleagues, and a handful of loyal staff members attended. The atmosphere was filled with genuine laughter, acoustic guitar music, and the scent of spring flowers dancing on the breeze.

Elena walked down the garden aisle wearing a simple, elegant ivory silk dress that hugged her silhouette gracefully. Her dark hair was adorned with fresh baby's breath, and her smile radiated a pure, radiant joy that put every designer gown in the shade.

Standing at the altar waiting for her was Ethan, dressed in a classic navy suit, looking at her as if she were the only person in the entire universe.

And right between them, acting as the most enthusiastic flower girl in history, was two-year-old Olivia. Wearing a fluffy white dress with a pale blue sash, she cheerfully tossed fistfuls of rose petals onto the grass—frequently missing the aisle entirely and giggling hysterically as the petals stuck to her shoes.

When Elena reached the altar, Ethan took her hands in his, their fingers interlocking naturally.

As the officiant began to speak, little Olivia toddled over, tugging on the hem of Ethan’s trousers. Ethan smiled down, easily scooping her up into his arms so she could rest comfortably against his chest—just like she had on the night that changed everything.

"Do you, Ethan, take Elena to be your lawfully wedded wife?" the officiant asked.

Ethan looked into Elena’s deep brown eyes, then down at the little girl resting in his arms, before looking back at his bride with absolute, unwavering devotion.

"I do," Ethan said clearly.

"And do you, Elena, take Ethan to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Elena smiled, her voice steady and ringing with absolute truth. "I do."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Ethan leaned down, capturing Elena’s lips in a tender, passionate kiss as applause and cheers erupted from the assembled guests. And right on cue, little Olivia clapped her hands together with uncontainable excitement, her voice ringing out clear and bright across the garden:

"Yay! Mama and Dada!"

Everyone laughed, the sound mingling with the rustling leaves and the warm afternoon sun. The silence that had once defined their lives was gone forever, replaced by a symphony of love, truth, and a family that nothing in this world could ever break apart.
