Chapter 9 - The Battle for Chronos
The subterranean facility turned into a warzone of flashing red lights and blaring sirens. Donovan, moving with tactical precision, guided Emily through the chaos to the primary holding cells. With a heavy kick, Donovan breached the security command center, finding Emily's parents strapped to neural transfer chairs.
"Emily!" her mother cried, tears bursting from her eyes as the restraints were deactivated. The family embraced in a frantic, emotional reunion amidst the collapsing tech empire.
But the victory wasn't complete. In the main server room, Victor Vance was frantically trying to download the core data onto a portable drive to escape. He held Barnaby by his metallic chassis, raising a heavy wrench to smash the prototype out of pure spite.

"Drop it, Vance!" Donovan shouted, entering the server room with Emily and her father.
Vance spun around, wild-eyed and backed into a corner. "If I go down, this entire facility blows! I’ve initiated a core overload!"
