Chapter 10 - The Dawn of a New Era

The sun began to set over the Oregon mountains, casting a brilliant golden glow across the valley.

That evening, we held a small, intimate dinner on the farmhouse porch. There were no news cameras, no high-society guests vying for status, no fake smiles or snide remarks. Just my mother, Harrison, my son, and a few lifelong family friends from the nearby town who had loved my mother for who she was long before anyone knew the name Vance.

My mother stood up at the head of the long wooden table, holding her glass.

"To new beginnings," my mother said, her voice rich with warmth and quiet strength. "And to my daughter, Maya. Who proved that grace is not the absence of strength, but the courage to stand up for what is right when the storm is at its worst."

Everyone raised their glasses in a toast.

I looked around the table at the genuine, smiling faces of the people who mattered most. I looked at my son, who was laughing heartily as Harrison showed him how to fold a paper airplane. I looked at my mother, whose dignity had remained untouched through every trial.

I had stripped my enemies of their stolen luxury, dismantled their fake empire, and reclaimed my family’s legacy. But as I sat under the starlit sky, listening to the soft rustle of the oak leaves in the evening breeze, I realized that my greatest victory wasn't destroying Garrett Lawson.

It was finding myself again—unbroken, unbothered, and entirely free.

The future lay before us, bright, honest, and infinite.
