Chapter 10 - The Golden Horizon

Two years later, on a breathtaking afternoon in Key West, the sound of ocean waves rolling gently against the shore filled the warm air.
Under a canopy of fragrant white orchids and tropical greenery overlooking the sparkling turquoise sea, a small, intimate wedding ceremony was taking place.
Skylar stood beneath the canopy, wearing an exquisite, flowing lace wedding dress that caught the soft ocean breeze. Her auburn hair fell in elegant waves over her shoulders, and her face glowed with pure, unadulterated happiness.
Standing opposite her was David Vance, looking handsome in a tailored linen suit, his eyes full of devotion and tears of joy as he held both of her hands in his own.
Surrounding them were their closest friends, colleagues, and women whose lives had been saved by Skylar’s foundation.
The officiant smiled at them both. “Skylar and David, you have built a partnership rooted in mutual respect, unwavering trust, and genuine love. Do you have the rings?”
Eleanor Vance, serving as Skylar’s maid of honor, stepped forward with a radiant smile, handing David a polished platinum band.
David slipped the band onto Skylar’s finger, looking deeply into her eyes. “Skylar, you are the strongest, most brilliant, and most loving woman I have ever known. I promise to stand beside you, to honor you, and to love you through every step of our lives together.”
Skylar took a second platinum band and slipped it onto David’s finger, her voice steady, beautiful, and overflowing with emotion. “David, you showed me that true love lifts us up and gives us freedom. I give you my heart, my trust, and my life, gladly and without fear.”
“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife,” the officiant declared with a broad smile. “You may kiss the bride!”
David gently took Skylar’s face in his hands and kissed her passionately under the warm golden sunlight, as the crowd erupted into joyful applause and cheers.
Later that evening, as the wedding guests danced and celebrated beneath a sky filled with brilliant stars, Skylar and David walked hand-in-hand down to the quiet shore.
The warm ocean water lapped gently over their bare feet as they stood at the edge of the tide, wrapped in each other's arms.
Skylar leaned her head against David’s chest, feeling the steady, calming beat of his heart. She reached down and touched the platinum band shining on her finger—a ring that represented love, dignity, and true partnership.
She looked out over the endless ocean, where the dark horizon met the light of a million stars.
