Chapter 8 - Justice Delivered

The morning sun broke through the clouds for the first time in a week, bathing the city in warm, golden light.

The news cycle was dominated by a single story: the utter collapse of Vance Logistics and the arrest of over forty high-ranking executives, corrupt judges, and predatory enforcers. Apex Recovery Solutions was dissolved by court order, its assets seized to form a court-mandated two-hundred-million-dollar victim restitution fund.

In the grand conference room at Romano Global, Sarah Hayes sat alongside Elena Vance, signing the final paperwork.

"With these signatures, Sarah," Elena explained, handing her a leather folder, "all fake debts attributed to your late husband are legally expunged. Furthermore, the court has awarded you an initial settlement of fifteen million dollars from Vance Logistics' seized assets, alongside full ownership of your husband's restored estate."

Sarah stared at the documents, her hands trembling. She looked up at Victor, who sat at the head of the table sipping tea.

"Fifteen million dollars?" Sarah whispered, overwhelmed. "Victor... this is too much. We just wanted our life back."

"Your husband gave his life to expose evil, Sarah," Victor said gently. "This isn't charity. It is the justice he died fighting for. But there is one more thing."

Victor signaled to Marcus, who opened the double doors of the boardroom.

Two assistants wheeled in a covered object. Victor walked over and pulled off the silk sheet.

Sarah gasped, covering her mouth as fresh tears filled her eyes.

Standing on the polished marble floor were all of their stolen belongings—their couch, their TV, their dining table, and, standing gleaming in the center, baby Leo’s crib, fully restored and polished.

"Our security team recovered every single item from Apex's illegal warehouses," Victor said smoothly. "Your home has been completely repaired, renovated, and secured. You can move back whenever you are ready—or buy any home in the world you desire."

Sarah broke down, weeping tears of profound relief. Victor stepped forward, offering her a handkerchief as she threw her arms around him in a tight, desperate embrace of gratitude.
