Chapter 10 - The True Kingdom

Three years later.

The summer sun shone bright and warm over the rolling green hills of the Alliance Estate.

The grand terrace overlooking the Hudson River was filled with flowers, balloons, and laughter. Dozens of children from the local orphanage—funded entirely by the Carmine Foundation—were running across the lawn, playing tag, eating ice cream, and flying bright red kites in the clear blue sky.

Mrs. Gable stood near a long buffet table, serving fresh strawberry cake to laughing children, while Miles stood near the entrance, smiling warmly as he watched Barnaby the golden retriever chase two toddlers across the grass.

Sitting on the high stone wall of the terrace, looking out over the joyous scene, was Victor Alliance.

At fifty years old, he looked younger, happier, and more alive than he ever had in his entire life. The dark circles under his eyes were gone, replaced by laughter lines around his eyes and a permanent, warm smile on his lips.

Helena, now eleven years old, walked over, holding two plates of strawberry cake. She wore a simple white summer dress, her dark hair long and braided, her face radiant with health, intelligence, and love.

She sat beside Victor on the stone wall, handing him a plate.

"Happy Anniversary, Dad," she said gently.

Victor looked at her, puzzled. "Anniversary?"

"Five years ago today," Helena smiled, looking out at the river. "The night it rained... when I met you outside Alliance Tower."

Victor paused, looking down at his strawberry cake, then looking up at the sky. Five years ago, he had been a cold, hollow billionaire living in a golden cage, surrounded by enemies and ruined lives.

And today, he was the rich father of a beautiful, loving family, surrounded by peace, purpose, and genuine happiness.

"You asked for three wishes that night, Helena," Victor said softly, turning to look into his daughter's beautiful, mature dark eyes.

"And you gave me all three," Helena replied, laying her head against his shoulder.

"No, Helena," Victor said, wrapping his arm around her, kissing her hair. "You gave them to me. You wished for me to smile... you wished for your dad to have a home... and you wished for a family."

Helena looked up at him, her eyes shining with tears of pure happiness. "And did they all come true?"

Victor looked out over the sunlit gardens, watching the happy children playing, hearing the laughter echoing across the river, feeling the warm, beating heart of his daughter pressed against his side.

He let out a deep, contented breath and smiled—a bright, brilliant, beautiful smile that lit up his entire face and warmed his very soul.

"Yes, my sweet Helena," Victor Alliance whispered, holding his daughter tight against his heart. "Every single one of them came true."

And there, under the warm summer sun, overlooking the quiet, sparkling waters of the Hudson River, the billionaire and the poor girl lived in absolute peace, bound forever by the greatest gift of all: love.
