Chapter 11 - The Tradition RestoredThree days later.

The morning sun shone brilliantly over Chicago, painting the glass exterior of the Grand Regent in shades of warm gold.
The front lobby was entirely transformed. The cold, elitist tension that had once hung over the marble floor was gone, replaced by soft ambient lighting, fresh floral arrangements, and warm, smiling staff members welcoming travelers from all walks of life.
A new staff training policy—designed personally by Lupita Morales—was already in full effect across all seven flagship hotels in the Regent Group, prioritizing empathy, fair workload limits for housekeeping staff, and universal courtesy for every guest.
In Suite 904, Ethan sat on the plush leather sofa, holding a warm cup of coffee.
Lily stood near the window, wearing a pretty yellow dress, holding her stuffed rabbit in one hand and a small leather purse in the other.
On the mahogany table beside them sat the glass vase holding the red roses. They had fully bloomed, their deep crimson petals vibrant, beautiful, and fragrant, filling the entire suite with their sweet scent.
A gentle knock sounded at the door.
Ethan opened it to find Lupita standing outside, wearing a tailored navy executive suit, carrying a small wooden memory box.
"Good morning, Ethan," Lupita smiled warmly. "Good morning, Lily!"
"Miss Lupita!" Lily cheered, running over to give her a warm hug.
"I brought something for you before you head to the airport," Lupita said, handing the wooden memory box to Ethan.
Ethan opened the box. Inside was a beautifully preserved, resin-encased red rose petal from the bouquet, engraved with the words:
Sarah’s Light — The Grand Regent Chicago
Ethan touched the smooth glass resin, feeling tears of deep, quiet emotion warm his eyes.
"Lupita..." Ethan whispered, his voice thick with gratitude. "This is... incredible."
"It's so your family will always remember that no matter where you travel in this world," Lupita said gently, "you will always have a home here."
Ethan closed the box, holding it close to his chest, looking into the eyes of the woman who had transformed his hotel's legacy.
"Thank you, Lupita," Ethan said sincerely. "For everything."
Ten minutes later, Ethan and Lily walked down into the main lobby.
As they walked toward the heavy glass exit doors, every staff member—from the new front-desk clerks to the doormen—smiled warmly, bowing slightly out of genuine respect and affection.
Outside, a sleek black car waited at the curb under the morning sun.
The doorman held the rear door open.
Ethan lifted Lily into her seat, buckling her in safely, making sure her stuffed rabbit was tucked beside her.
He climbed in beside her, holding the wooden memory box in his lap.
As the car pulled away from the curb, heading toward the airport, Lily looked out the window at the tall, gleaming tower of the Grand Regent Hotel fading into the blue sky.
"Daddy?" Lily asked softly, taking his hand.
"Yes, sweetie?"
"Mommy liked this house, didn't she?"
Ethan looked down at his daughter, then looked at the wooden box resting in his hands, feeling the warmth of the sun shining through the car window.

"Yes, Lily," Ethan smiled, a radiant, happy peace filling his heart. "She loved it. And now... it's bright again."
The car swept down the boulevard under the warm Chicago sun, carrying a father and daughter forward into a future filled with light, love, and unbroken promises.
