Chapter 10 - The New FoundationEthan stepped out from behind the podium, walking around the main table until he stood directly beside Lupita.

He placed a gentle, supportive hand on her shoulder.
"Eight years ago," Ethan addressed the entire room, "Lupita Morales joined this hotel as a housekeeper. Last night, when every senior executive and front-desk manager at this property failed the most basic test of human decency, Lupita was the only person who stepped forward to protect a sleeping child and help a tired father."
Lupita looked up at Ethan, her eyes filling with tears of shock.
"Lupita understands what this brand was built on," Ethan continued. "She understands that luxury without empathy is nothing more than empty paint on cold stone."
Ethan looked at the board members.
"Effective immediately," Ethan announced, "Lupita Morales is appointed as the new Director of Guest Experience and Staff Culture for the Grand Regent Chicago, with a seat on the Regional Executive Board and a full corporate salary package."
The ballroom erupted into loud, thunderous applause. Housekeeping staff members standing at the back of the room cheered and wept with joy, clapping frantically for their colleague.
Lupita covered her mouth with both hands, tears of overwhelming gratitude streaming down her cheeks.
"Mr. Vance..." Lupita choked out, her voice shaking. "I... I don't know what to say! I don't have an executive degree..."
"You have something far more valuable, Lupita," Ethan smiled warmly, taking her hand. "You have character. You can teach skills, but you cannot teach a heart that cares. I know this hotel is safe in your hands."
Little Lily reached over, hugging Lupita’s waist tightly. "Yay, Miss Lupita!"
Lupita pulled Lily into a gentle hug, holding the little girl close as the entire room stood up to give her a standing ovation.
