Chapter 10 - The Eternal Light

Fifteen years later.

The grand auditorium of the Royal Academy of Art in London was filled with world-renowned artists, dignitaries, and patrons.

Standing on the main stage was twenty-nine-year-old Lily Cross, looking radiant in an elegant emerald green gown. She had just been awarded the International Gold Medal for Humanitarian Art for her monumental painting series depicting the strength and resilience of displaced mothers and children around the world.

Standing in the front row, clapping proudly with tears streaming down their faces, were Daniel and Elena Cross, holding hands tightly. Beside them stood twenty-five-year-old Michael Jr., a handsome young architect who had designed the foundation’s newest art schools in Asia.

Lily stepped up to the microphone, holding her heavy golden award.

She looked out over the crowd of thousands, her eyes settling on the elderly man in the front row—the billionaire who had dropped to his knees on a wet marble floor twenty-six years ago to lift a frightened little girl out of the dark.

"I dedicate this award to two men," Lily’s clear, melodic voice echoed through the magnificent hall.

The audience listened in rapt attention.

"To my biological father, Michael, who painted a vision of love and family before he was taken from this world," Lily spoke, her voice filled with deep emotion. "And to my father, Daniel... who proved that true strength is not measured by the empires we build, but by the love we give to those who have nowhere else to turn."

Lily lifted her award high into the bright lights of the stage, her face glowing with radiant, beautiful triumph.

In the front row, Daniel Cross closed his eyes, feeling the warm spirit of his brother Michael beside him, smiling, peaceful, and content.
