Chapter 10 - The Harvest of Joy

Five years later.
The afternoon sun set slowly over the Pacific Ocean, casting golden and violet light across the private beach behind Clare’s coastal estate in Malibu.
Clare walked along the shoreline, barefoot, the cool water lapping gently at her feet. She was twelve years older than the day she had stepped out of her car on Skid Row, but she carried a timeless grace and peace that shone brighter than ever.
A short distance down the beach, twelve-year-old Lily and Rose were laughing as they ran along the tide line with their golden retrievers. They were tall, healthy, confident young girls—top students at their academy, talented artists, and active youth ambassadors for the Lauron Hope Foundation.
Lily stopped, looking down at the wet sand, and picked up a smooth, curved seashell. She ran over to Clare, holding it out in her palm.
"Look, Mama," Lily smiled, holding the shell up to the setting sun. "It’s shaped just like my birthmark."
Clare took the shell, looking at the perfect crescent shape, then turned to look at the base of Lily’s neck, where the same mark sat softly against her glowing skin.
"It is," Clare smiled, her voice rich with deep, undeniable love. "A little piece of fate."
Rose walked over, wrapping her arm around Clare’s waist, looking out at the endless horizon where the ocean met the sky.
"Do you ever think about that day, Mama?" Rose asked softly. "The red light on the street?"
Clare pulled both of her daughters close against her side, resting her head against Rose’s hair, watching the golden light reflect off the waves.

"Every single day, my beautiful girls," Clare whispered, her voice overflowing with peace. "It was the day the world tried to give me darkness, and instead, God gave me my light."
They stood together on the shore, three hearts beating as one, holding hands under the warm, golden sky—a family restored, unbreakable, and forever home.
