Chapter 7 - The Battle for the North End

The Corvo estate in the historic North End was an old-world mansion protected by high stone walls and iron gates. Don Corvo, an elderly man with ruthless eyes, sat in his private study surrounded by his top captains when the front iron gates were violently blown off their hinges by an explosive charge.
Alarm sirens blared through the midnight sky.
Dante’s convoy of dark armored vehicles tore through the shattered gates, spilling out dozens of tactical enforcers. What followed was thirty minutes of precise, overwhelming force. Dante moved through the estate like an unstoppable force of nature, flanked by Nico and Vance.
Corvo’s men, taken entirely by surprise and demoralized by the news of Victor’s fall, surrendered or were neutralized in rapid succession.
Dante kicked open the doors to Corvo’s private study.
Don Corvo was standing behind his mahogany desk, holding a heavy revolver with trembling hands. "Dante... listen to me. It was business! Victor came to me—"
"You took seven years of my life," Dante said, stepping into the room. He didn't raise his gun. He simply walked up to the desk. "You made my daughters sleep on floorboards in East Boston."
Corvo raised the gun, but before his finger could touch the trigger, Nico stepped forward and disarmed him with a single swift blow, dropping the old Don to his knees.
Dante looked down at the man who had helped orchestrate his life's greatest tragedy. "You're going to sign over every asset, every property, and every ledger you own to a trust fund under the names of Clara, Mia, and Lily Russo. And then you are going to prison for the rest of your natural life."
May you like
"Prison?" Corvo sputtered, shocked that Dante hadn't killed him on the spot.
"Death is too quick," Dante said coldly. "I want you to sit in a federal cell every morning for the next twenty years, knowing that my daughters are spending your fortune to build hospitals and schools across this city."
