Chapter 10 - A Morning in the Sun

A year later, the sun rose brightly over Boston Harbor, painting the water in brilliant shades of gold and amber.
I sat on the terrace of my beautiful, newly purchased brownstone, enjoying a quiet Sunday morning. The air was crisp, carrying the sweet scent of blooming jasmine from the balcony garden.
My phone chimed with a video message from Chloe. It was a clip of her little boy taking his first steps in a beautiful, sunny park, laughing as he chased a golden retriever. The text below read: Thank you for giving us our life back, Claire. We love you.
I smiled, a deep, radiant feeling of peace washing over me.
