Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Circle

That evening, the grand penthouse overlooking Lake Michigan was peaceful and quiet.
The warm night breeze blew gently through the open balcony doors, carrying the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the distant hum of the city below.
In the master nursery, Lily and Maya were fast asleep in their twin beds, buried under soft quilts, their giant teddy bears sitting faithfully beside them.
Asher stepped quietly out of the nursery, closing the door gently behind him.
He walked down the hallway into the open living room, where Clara stood on the outdoor balcony, leaning against the glass railing, looking out over the twinkling city lights.
Asher walked up behind her, gently wrapping his broad arms around her waist, pulling her back against his chest. Clara smiled, leaning her head back against his shoulder, her hands resting over his.
"Are they asleep?" she asked softly.
"Out cold," Asher smiled, pressing a gentle kiss against her neck. "Lily made me read the story about the dragon three times before she surrendered."
Clara let out a soft, warm laugh, turning in his arms to face him. She reached up, her soft fingers gently tracing his sharp jawline, looking deep into his dark, loving eyes.
"Do you remember the night you found us, Asher?" Clara asked quietly.
"I think about it every single day," Asher admitted softly, wrapping his arms securely around her waist. "I was an arrogant, angry man who thought he owned the world. I kicked a cart because I thought it was blocking my path."
Clara smiled, reaching up on her tiptoes to press her soft lips gently against his.

"You didn't kick a cart, Asher," she whispered against his mouth, her eyes shining with absolute, unconditional love. "You kicked open the door to our family."
Asher smiled, pulling her close into a deep, tender kiss as the warm summer wind blew softly around them. Beneath the glowing Chicago skyline, the billionaire who had once had everything and nothing had finally found the one thing money could never buy—a home, a purpose, and a love that would last forever.
