Chapter 4 - The Unraveling of Silas Vance

The board members began flipping frantically through the binders Marcus had provided. The documents contained detailed bank records, offshore shell account transfers, original engineering blue-prints signed by Wren Osei years before her marriage to Silas, and forensic audits demonstrating systematic asset-stripping by Silas and Odalys.

"This is absurd! These documents are forged!" Silas roared, slamming his fists on the table. "Board members, I demand you clear this room immediately!"

"Sit down, Silas," spoke up Thomas Sterling, the oldest and most respected independent director on the board. Sterling was trembling with rage as he stared at an audited spreadsheet. "Is it true? Is Vance Dynamics holding one hundred and twenty million dollars in unreleased offshore debt?"

"It... it's a structured credit facility designed to mitigate tax liabilities—" Silas stammered.

"It's fraud," Wren interrupted, stepping to the front of the screen and plugging a small flash drive into the podium system. A massive diagram appeared on the wall behind her, showing the intricate web of shell companies created by Silas and Odalys to siphon profits out of the core manufacturing divisions.

"Silas didn't just hide debt," Wren explained calmly to the silent room. "He compromised the safety protocols of our newest hydraulic stabilizers to cut manufacturing costs by thirty percent. He knew the units would fail after two years of heavy use, forcing our municipal clients into expensive service contracts managed exclusively by an unlisted subsidiary owned by Odalys's family."

A wave of horrified gasps washed over the room.

"You ruined the integrity of my engineering," Wren said, looking Silas directly in the eye. "You put lives at risk to fund a luxury lifestyle and pay off blackmail threats."

Odalys grabbed her purse, making a sudden move toward the side exit, but two SEC agents stepped into her path, holding up a federal subpoena.

"Miss Odalys Vance," the lead agent said, "you are being named as a co-conspirator in a corporate fraud and grand larceny investigation. Do not attempt to leave the building."

Silas looked around the room, searching the faces of his longtime business partners, investors, and allies. Every single person looked back at him with disgust. The illusion of his genius, his charm, and his untouchable status had vanished into thin air, torn apart by the cold, undeniable facts presented by a quiet engineer and her father.
