Chapter 7 - Rat in a Corner
"This is a witch hunt!" Gregory slammed his hands on the table, looking frantically around the room at board members who had once catered to his every whim. None of them met his gaze. "I built this company!"
"You mismanaged this company," Julian Thorne corrected coldly. "And you committed federal wire fraud to cover your personal expenditures. You have two choices, Gregory. You can execute a total surrender of all claims, resign immediately, and return the stolen capital, or the evidence goes directly to the U.S. Attorney's office by noon."
Across town, Ashley was already packing her bags at the penthouse. When news reached her that the bank was repossessing the property and that Gregory was facing criminal indictment, her promises of eternal love vanished. She attempted to access a joint offshore account, only to find it completely frozen by the federal court order.
