Chapter 10 - The Star Song Under the Sky

That evening, the summer sky over the estate turned a deep, brilliant indigo, dotted with a thousand shimmering silver stars.

We sat out on the grand terrace—Claire, myself, and the twins, curled up together on a large outdoor sofa wrapped in a soft, oversized blanket. The boys were exhausted from a long day of playing in the yard, their small heads resting against Claire’s shoulders.

"Daddy?" Lucas murmured, his eyes half-closed as he looked up at the moon. "Can we sing it now?"

I looked at Claire, a silent, beautiful understanding passing between us. I reached out, my hand finding hers beneath the blanket, her fingers intertwining with mine with a quiet, natural ease that felt like the beginning of a new chapter.

Together, our voices rose into the quiet night air, blending perfectly as we sang the old, familiar words Evelyn had left behind.

S(t)=The Star Song

"Twinkle, twinkle, little light, Watch my boys through the night. Carry my love on a silver beam, Keep them safe in every dream..."

As the last note faded into the gentle summer breeze, Lucas and Owen finally drifted off to sleep, their breathing deep and regular.

The mansion behind us was still worth millions of dollars, but as I looked at the family gathered on the porch, I realized that the true value of my home had nothing to do with the architecture or the contract values. It was found in the quiet, unbreakable bond of the people inside it—a legacy of love that had survived the dark, broken the chains of the past, and finally found its way into the light.
