Sitting in her empty, quiet living room, Vivian watched as moving trucks pulled up to the estate. Bank representatives accompanied by police officers began tagging her luxury furniture, gold paintings, and antique vases with foreclosure notices.
"Daniel!" Vivian screamed, running into his study where empty whiskey bottles littered his desk. "The bank is seizing the house! Do something! Call your friends!"
"What friends, Mom?" Daniel laughed bitterly, his eyes bloodshot, his hair messy and unkempt. "Every single person we knew has blocked our numbers. We're ruined. We have three million dollars in personal debt and the SEC is filing criminal charges against me on Monday!"
"This is all that girl's fault!" Vivian shrieked, clutching her pearl necklace. "That ungrateful, dirty little peasant!"
