Chapter 9 - THE WEDDING AT SUNSET

Three months later.
The wedding took place on the private cliffside gardens of the estate overlooking Lake Michigan at sunset.
The aisle was lined with white rose petals and glowing glass lanterns. Soft breeze blew off the water, carrying the sweet scent of summer flowers.
Dominic stood near the altar as the best man, wearing a crisp black tuxedo with a white orchid pinned to his lapel. Beatatrice sat in the front row, wiping away tears of joy with a lace handkerchief.
At the altar stood Silana, looking magnificent in a tailored midnight-blue tuxedo. He looked strong, relaxed, and deeply at peace.
The string quartet began to play a soaring, beautiful rendition of Canon in D.
Walking down the aisle as the ring bearer was tiny fifteen-month-old Leo, wearing a tiny black tuxedo and a little red bow tie. He walked proudly, holding a velvet cushion with the wedding rings, cheered on by Beatatrice.
Behind Leo walked Bella.
She was breathtaking. Her white silk gown flowed like water behind her, adorned with delicate lace detailing along the train. She held a bouquet of white roses and green eucalyptus leaves.
As she reached the altar, Silana took her hand, his eyes burning with unconditional love.
"You look like an angel," Silana whispered.
"And you look like my home," Bella answered softly.
The priest began the ceremony, speaking of resilience, second chances, and the power of love to heal even the deepest wounds.
When the time came for the exchange of vows, Silana held Bella's hands, looking directly into her eyes.
"Bella," Silana spoke clearly, his voice echoing across the quiet lake. "Four years ago, I thought my life was over. I lived in a world of shadows, waiting for the end. Then you and Leo walked into my life, and you showed me that love is stronger than grief. I promise to honor you, protect you, and love you for all the days of my life."
Bella smiled through her tears. "Silana, you took a frightened mother and her baby in from the cold. You gave us a home, a future, and a unconditional love I never thought I would find. I give you my heart, my soul, and my entire life."
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the priest declared. "You may kiss the bride!"

Silana pulled Bella into his arms, dipping her slightly as he kissed her passionately against the backdrop of the fiery red sunset over Lake Michigan.
The guests broke into enthusiastic applause, and little Leo ran up to grab their hands, cheering in his cute baby voice.
