Chapter 10 - The Garden of Light
Five years later.
The sun was setting over the rolling green hills of the Sterling Estate, painting the sky in deep, beautiful shades of gold, violet, and crimson.
In the center of the rear courtyard stood the newly opened Rosalie Sterling Foundation for Missing Persons and Amnesia Care—a state-of-the-art facility that provided medical treatment, legal aid, and housing for victims of human trafficking and memory loss, fully funded by the Sterling Trust.
On the wide wooden porch of the main house, Rosalie sat on a comfortable swinging bench, sipping warm tea.
Beside her, Alexander sat with his arm wrapped around her waist, resting his head against her shoulder as they watched the lawn below.
Ten-year-old Noah was running through the grass, playing tag with his four-year-old little sister, Clara—a bright, dark-haired girl who possessed her mother's joyful laugh and her father's quick mind.
"Look, Daddy! I caught her!" Noah cheered, picking his little sister up and spinning her around in the sunlit grass.
Alexander chuckled softly, leaning down to press a warm kiss on Rosalie’s temple. "They are perfect, Rosalie."
"They are happy," Rosalie corrected softly, leaning her head back against his chest, listening to the steady, reassuring beat of his heart. "And that's all that ever matters."
The warm summer breeze blew through the garden, rustling the leaves of the oak trees and carrying the sweet scent of blooming red roses across the porch.
