Chapter 8 - The Renewal of Solomon Construction

Three months later.

The spring sun was shining brightly over the city of Maplewood.

At the headquarters of Solomon Construction, the main lobby was filled with hundreds of employees, engineers, field workers, and news reporters.

The dark clouds of corruption that had hovered over the company for three years had been completely cleared away. With Evelyn Vance’s legal expertise and my father’s original trusted board members reinstated, Solomon Construction had successfully reclaimed every stolen asset, severed all ties with predatory private equity firms, and launched a multi-million-dollar public infrastructure initiative to build low-income housing and community centers across the state.

I stood at the podium in the main auditorium, wearing an elegant cream-colored suit.

Beside me sat Owen, dressed in a sharp navy blazer, looking out at the crowd without a single trace of fear in his bright blue eyes. Beside him was Whitney, who had officially been appointed as the director of the estate's domestic management and family affairs, wearing a beautiful floral dress.

"Three years ago, this company lost its founder, my father, Thomas Solomon," I spoke into the microphone, my voice rich, steady, and carrying across the packed room. "And for three years, dark forces tried to convince us that power belongs to those who deceive, threaten, and poison."

I looked down at Owen, smiling warmly.

"But truth has a way of finding its voice," I continued. "My son, Owen, showed me that courage isn't about how loud you speak—it's about standing up for the people you love when it matters most."

The crowd erupted into resounding applause. Engineers, office staff, and reporters stood to their feet, cheering for the young boy who had saved his family's legacy.

Owen looked up at me, a bright, radiant smile breaking across his face. He leaned into the microphone beside me.

"Thank you, everyone," Owen said clearly, his voice ringing through the speakers. "My grandpa built this company. And my mom is going to make it great again."

The applause turned into a thunderous ovation that shook the very foundation of the building.
