Chapter 9 - Justice for Nora
Arthur Sterling stood up frantically, turning to his lawyers, but two federal marshals immediately stepped behind his chair.
"Arthur Sterling," the lead marshal announced, pulling out an arrest warrant. "You are under arrest for federal environmental conspiracy, destruction of evidence, and dangerous reckless endangerment."
As the marshals cuffed Arthur in front of dozens of flashing news cameras, Congressman Sterling slumped back into his chair, his political career and family empire collapsing in real-time.
Daniel walked over to the press line, where Dr. Caldwell and the senior medical board from Baycrest were standing.
Caldwell looked at Sarah with deep respect and profound embarrassment. "Nurse Vance... I owe you a public apology. If you hadn't looked past the standard protocols... if you hadn't listened to Nora..."
"Medicine isn't just about reading monitors, Dr. Caldwell," Sarah said gently. "It's about listening to the patient when no one else hears them."
