Chapter 10 - An Unbroken Future

Two years later.

The summer morning was bright, warm, and filled with the scent of blooming jasmine throughout the gardens of Moretti Manor.

The estate had become a place of legendary warmth in Chicago. The old days of paranoia and dark shadows were gone, replaced by a powerful, respected reign of peace under Gabriel's command.

Down in the garden, three-year-old Leo was running across the lush green grass, wearing a tiny leather jacket, laughing hysterically as Dante chased him around a stone fountain.

Up on the terrace, Gabriel sat at a wrought-iron table, reading through the morning intelligence reports. But his focus wasn't on the papers—it was on the woman sitting across from him.

Norah looked more radiant than ever. She wore a soft lavender sundress, her skin glowing in the morning sun.

Beside her sat a white wicker pram.

Inside the pram lay four-month-old Isabella Moretti—their daughter. She had Gabriel's dark hair and Norah’s soft, expressive hazel eyes.

Gabriel set his coffee cup down, stood up, and walked over to the pram. He leaned down, gently lifting his baby daughter into his arms, resting her against his chest with the same practiced tenderness he had shown Leo years ago.

Isabella let out a soft, babbling coo, her tiny fingers grasping Gabriel’s thumb.

Norah stood up, stepping close to Gabriel’s side, resting her head against his shoulder as they watched Leo and Dante playing in the garden below.

"He looks so much like you when he runs," Norah murmured softly, looking at Leo.

"He has my energy," Gabriel chuckled, placing a gentle kiss on top of baby Isabella's head, then turning to kiss Norah’s forehead. "But he has your heart, my love. Thank God for that."

Norah looked out over the sprawling estate—the high stone walls that once seemed like a prison, now serving as the boundary of a safe, loving sanctuary where her children would grow up surrounded by strength, respect, and unconditional love.

"Do you ever think about that night?" Norah asked quietly, looking up into Gabriel's dark, loving eyes. "The night you kicked in my door?"

Gabriel paused, his arm tightening around her waist, pulling her and Isabella close to his heart.

"Every day," Gabriel admitted softly, his voice rich with profound gratitude. "I went to that apartment looking for a debt. I walked out with my entire life."

Norah smiled, leaning up on her tiptoes to press a warm, sweet kiss against his lips.

"The best debt you ever collected," she whispered.

Gabriel laughed—a rich, genuine sound that echoed across the quiet, sunlit terrace—and held his wife and daughter tightly, watching the sun rise higher over a future that was finally, truly unbroken.
