Chapter 9 - The Wedding of the Century

The wedding of Gabriel Moretti and Norah Bennett was held on a glorious Saturday in July on the sweeping lawns of the estate overlooking the lake.

Security was impenetrable, but the atmosphere was pure magic. White roses lined the outdoor aisle, string quartets played classical melodies, and the summer sun reflected off the clear blue waters.

Norah stood before the full-length mirror in the bridal suite, admiring her reflection.

Her gown was a breathtaking ivory silk creation designed specifically for her full, curvy figure. The sweetheart neckline showcased her collarbones, while the fitted bodice tapered down into a dramatic, sweeping train adorned with delicate lace. Her dark hair fell in romantic waves down her back, crowned with a delicate tiara of pearls.

Mrs. Rossi stood behind her, tears streaming down her face as she adjusted the lace veil. "You look like an angel, my dear. A true queen."

A knock sounded at the door, and Dante stepped in, wearing a sleek black tuxedo. He carried little Leo, who was dressed in a tiny matching tuxedo with a red bow tie, looking impossibly handsome.

"Time to go, Lady Moretti," Dante smiled warmly, handing Leo over to Norah.

When the heavy grand doors of the estate opened and Norah stepped onto the aisle, the entire gathering of syndicate leaders, politicians, and friends stood up in awe.

At the end of the white runner stood Gabriel.

He looked impossibly handsome in his black tuxedo, his eyes fixed on Norah with a fierce, awe-struck devotion that brought tears to the eyes of everyone watching.

When Norah reached his side, Gabriel took her hand, his fingers trembling slightly—a rare sight for a man who had never shown fear in his life.

"You take my breath away," Gabriel whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

"You gave me my breath back," Norah whispered back, her hazel eyes shining with unconditional love.

The ceremony was brief, powerful, and deeply emotional. When the priest declared them husband and wife, Gabriel didn't hesitate—he pulled Norah into his arms and dipped her slightly, kissing her with a raw, consuming passion that elicited thunderous applause and cheers from the crowd.

Leo, sitting in Mrs. Rossi's arms in the front row, clapped his tiny hands together, letting out a loud, happy squeal that made the whole gathering laugh.

Later that evening, as fireworks lit up the night sky over the lake, Gabriel and Norah stood together on the private balcony of their master suite, watching the guests celebrate below.

Gabriel held a glass of champagne, his arm wrapped tightly around Norah's waist, holding her close against his side as the cool summer breeze blew past them.

"Happy, Mrs. Moretti?" he murmured into her hair.

May you like

Norah turned in his arms, wrapping her hands around his neck, looking up into the eyes of the man who had rewritten her entire destiny.

"More than happy, Gabriel," she whispered softly. "I'm complete."
