Chapter 10 - The Dawn of Sterling Manor

Spring returned to the mountain valley, bringing with it brilliant sunshine, green pastures, and the sweet scent of blooming jasmine.
The dark, oppressive atmosphere of Sterling Manor was entirely gone. The heavy black drapes had been torn down, replaced by sweeping white silk that let the sunlight pour into every corner of the historic mansion.
In the front courtyard, six-year-old Julian was running through the green grass, his joyful laughter echoing off the ancient stone walls as he played with a golden retriever puppy.
Standing on the grand marble terrace, Eleanor breathed in the fresh mountain air. Beside her stood Martha, wearing a warm, peaceful smile, a cup of hot tea in her hands.
"The workers have finished rebuilding the mountain pass road, My Lady," Martha said gently. "They have placed a stone monument at the cliffside... in honor of survival and justice."
Eleanor smiled softly, placing a hand on the cool stone railing. She looked down at her son, who was waving up at her from the lawn, his bright blue eyes full of hope and happiness.
She had survived the fall. She had conquered the dark abyss. The pain of the past was no longer a weight holding her down, but the foundation upon which she had built a safe, glorious future for her child.

"Mommy! Come play!" Julian called out, his voice ringing pure and true across the estate.
"I'm coming, my love," Eleanor replied, her heart full, stepping down the sunlit marble stairs toward her son, leaving the shadows of the past behind forever.
