Spring had arrived at the Ror Estate in North Barrington—a breathtaking forty-acre property surrounded by rolling green hills, blooming cherry trees, and quiet blue ponds.
In the spacious garden behind the main manor, the sound of childish laughter rang out across the warm afternoon air.
A little two-year-old boy with dark hair and bright hazel eyes—named Arthur, after his grandfather—was running across the soft green grass, holding a small wooden ball.
Chasing playfully behind him was Jax, his gray-brown fur shining in the sunlight, barking softly as he let the little boy stay just a step ahead.
Sitting on a wide teak bench near the rose garden was Clara, looking radiant, her face full of health, motherly warmth, and absolute contentment. Beside her sat Cassian, his arm wrapped comfortably around her waist, watching his son play with the war dog that had brought them together on that fateful November morning.
"He has your eyes, Cassian," Clara smiled, resting her hand over his.
"And he has your spirit," Cassian replied, leaning over to gently kiss her lips. "Wild, unbroken, and kind."
Aunt Sarah—who now lived in a beautiful guest cottage on the estate—walked out onto the stone patio carrying a tray of iced tea and fresh lemon cookies, calling little Arthur over for a snack.
The little boy squealed with delight, grabbing the ball and tumbling into the grass alongside Jax, both of them rolling around in pure, innocent happiness.
Cassian looked out over his estate—a place that had once been merely a secure compound, but had now become a true home, filled with love, laughter, and the promise of endless tomorrows.
