Chapter 6 - The Trap Collapses

Chaos was my element. In the military, they teach you that chaos isn't an obstacle—it’s an environment you control.

Using the wounded guard as a battering ram, I charged the second security officer, slamming him against the rack of servers. Sparking wires showered down like fireworks. I grabbed the guard’s tactical baton, swung it twice with bone-breaking precision, and neutralized both men in under fifteen seconds.

I turned back to Victor, who was scrambling toward the door, clutching his chest.

"It's over, Victor," I said, stepping over the unconscious guards and blocking his exit. "The files are already uploaded to a secure cloud server managed by federal prosecutors and the Department of Defense. Every port authority from Miami to Rotterdam is reading your manifests right now."

Victor’s face went pale, his calculated demeanor completely shattering. "You... you ruined decades of work..."

"You ruined yourself the moment you let your son think violence was a family tradition," I replied coldly.

Sirens began to wail in the distance—not just the building’s fire alarms triggered by the server sparks, but the blaring sirens of federal law enforcement vehicles surrounding the building below. Marcus had alerted the FBI the moment my download completed.

I walked out of the server room and into the main office. Gregory was sitting near the conference room, crying hysterically, clutching his face, terrified of both his father and me.

I walked up to my husband, unpinning the diamond wedding ring from my finger—the heavy, multi-carat ring he had given me to mark me as his possession.

I dropped the ring into his lap.

"Divorce papers will be served to your cell," I told him quietly.

As the heavy footfalls of an FBI tactical team echoed up the stairwell, I smoothed down my suit jacket, adjusted my hair, and walked calmly toward the emergency exit, leaving the father and son to face the ruins of their criminal legacy.
