Chapter 8 - Confrontation on the Stormy Sea

Leo slid across the wet deck as Julian spun around, pulling a knife from his belt.
"You meddling little parasite!" Julian roared, swinging the blade. "She was mine! Her money, her life, her legacy—everything belonged to me!"
"She never belonged to you!" Leo ducked beneath the blade, tackling Julian into the boat's control console.
The yacht veered wildly, crashing against a breakwater barrier. Both men fell hard onto the deck. Julian scrambled for his gun, picking it up and pointing it directly at Leo’s chest.
"Goodbye, boy," Julian sneered, his finger tightening on the trigger.
BANG!
A shot echoed across the water, but it didn't come from Julian’s gun.
Julian gasped, dropping the weapon as a bullet lodged itself into the control panel next to his hand.
A Coast Guard cutter tore through the darkness, searchlights illuminating the yacht in blinding white light. Standing on the deck of the cutter, holding a long-range tactical rifle beside federal agents, was Clara.

"Drop your weapon, Julian!" the Coast Guard captain shouted over a megaphone. "Your servers have been seized, your assets are frozen, and you are surrounded!"
Julian looked at Clara, then at the federal agents, realizing that his wealth, his influence, and his impunity had finally run out. He dropped the gun, sinking to his knees in utter defeat.
