Chapter 10 - The Legacy of Love

The sun set over Grayhaven, painting the sky in breathtaking hues of gold, pink, and deep indigo.
Late into the evening, after the music had softened and the guests had begun to gather near the marquee for toasts, Ronan led Ivy away from the crowd, up the stone stairs to the high balcony overlooking the entire estate and the glittering harbor beyond.
Below them, the lights of the city shone brightly—a city no longer ruled by fear, blood, and extortion, but built on fair wages, clean trade, and genuine community.
Ronan stood behind Ivy, wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her close against his chest as the cool evening breeze swept off the ocean.
"What are you thinking?" Ivy asked softly, leaning her head back against his shoulder.
"I’m thinking about the night I came home," Ronan whispered into her ear. "The night I saw a cruel woman holding a whip, and a brave woman standing in an apron, holding the entire world together without saying a word."
Ivy turned in his arms, resting her hands against his chest, looking up into his eyes.
"I was terrified that night, Ronan," she admitted softly. "Not of the whip... but that you would look at me and only see a servant."
Ronan leaned down, resting his forehead gently against hers, his hands cupping her cheeks with an infinite, holy reverence.
"I looked at you," Ronan swore, his voice thick with devotion, "and I saw my home. I saw my truth. I saw the only woman who could ever make a Blackwood worthy of love."

He kissed her then—a slow, deep, passionate kiss beneath the starlit sky that sealed their past, honored their sacrifices, and welcomed a future built on honor, justice, and an unbroken bond.
Down below, the bells of Blackwood Estate began to chime, their golden tones echoing across the harbor, declaring to all of Grayhaven that the empire was no longer ruled by dark shadows, but guided forever by light.
