Chapter 10 - The Dawn of the Castellan Empire

Three months later, the North Shore estate looked entirely different.

The cold, oppressive silence that had hung over the mansion for two long years was completely gone. Laughter echoed through the grand hallways. The sound of running feet, cheerful music, and children's stories filled the air.

In the sunlit conservatory overlooking the Atlantic, Leo sat on the floor, building a massive Lego castle alongside Wren, chatting happily about dragons and knights.

On the patio just outside, Julian stood leaning against the glass door, holding a cup of coffee, watching them with a deep, unbreakable peace in his dark eyes. The syndicate wars were behind him. With Moretti neutralized and the New England shipping routes firmly under his absolute control, Julian had restructured the Castellan syndicate, turning it into a legitimate global logistics enterprise.

Wren looked up from her Lego castle, caught Julian’s gaze through the glass, and offered him a soft, radiant smile.

Julian pushed the door open, stepping into the sunlit room. He walked over, knelt down on the rug beside them—right where he had first seen her clumsy grace months ago—and reached out, gently brushing a lock of hair behind Wren’s ear.

"Dinner is almost ready," Julian said softly, his voice full of warmth. "Mrs. Higgins made your favorite roast."

Leo looked up, grinning mischievously at his father. "Can we have chocolate cake too, Daddy?"

Julian chuckled, a rich, genuine sound that would have shocked anyone who knew him a year ago. He ruffled his son’s dark hair. "Only if Miss Calloway approves."

Wren laughed, leaning her head against Julian’s broad shoulder as he wrapped his strong, protective arm around her waist, pulling her close.

The supermodels of Boston, the high-society socialites, and the ruthless lords of the underworld could keep their cold, empty thrones. Julian Castellan had traded his empire of shadows for something infinitely more valuable: a real home, a laughing son, and a clumsy, beautiful woman who had taught his frozen heart how to beat again.
