Chapter 8 - The Fall of Valenti

While Lily and Elena prepared for their safe departure, the final blow against the Valenti crime family was struck with surgical precision.
At 3:00 PM, a convoy of five armored Moretti vehicles pulled up to the gates of the Valenti estate in the leafy suburbs of Westchester.
Don Valenti, an old man of seventy-two who had spent fifty years running extortion, drug smuggling, and political corruption across the state, sat in his private conservatory, sipping espresso.
When his front gates were smashed open by a steel-reinforced ram, he didn't even have time to draw his weapon.
Within three minutes, thirty Moretti operators had secured the entire compound, disarming Valenti’s personal guards without a single casualty.
The double glass doors of the conservatory swung open, and Allesandro Moretti stepped inside, carrying a sleek black leather briefcase.
Don Valenti looked up, his hand trembling slightly as he set his espresso cup down. "Allesandro..."
"Don Valenti," Allesandro said, sitting down in the wicker armchair across from the old boss. "You look surprised to see me."
"Where is my brother Carlo?" Valenti demanded, his voice raspy and weak.
"Carlo is currently speaking with federal prosecutors from the Southern District of New York," Allesandro said calmly, opening the briefcase and pulling out a stack of documents. "He was offered a full immunity agreement in exchange for turning over your master financial ledgers, your offshore accounts, and the taped recordings of your orders to assassinate federal judges."
Valenti’s eyes widened in sheer horror. "Carlo would never betray me!"
"Carlo surrendered the moment he realized he was facing life in federal prison," Allesandro corrected him flatly. "And Victoria Vance has signed a full confession detailing your organization's use of illegal surveillance and attempted biological assassination against my household."
Valenti sank back into his chair, looking suddenly very small, very frail, and completely broken.
Allesandro set a fountain pen on the glass table.
"You have two choices, Valenti," Allesandro stated coldly. "You sign over all your commercial port interests, real estate holdings, and logistics routes to the Moretti Foundation by 4:00 PM today, or I hand these original wiretap tapes directly to the FBI."
"If I sign... what happens to me?" Valenti whispered, his voice shaking.
"You retire," Allesandro said. "You spend the rest of your days under house arrest on your farm in upstate New York, stripped of your title, your money, and your power. If you step one foot outside that farm, the federal prosecutors will receive the tapes."
May you like
Valenti looked at the pen, then at the sharp, uncompromising eyes of the man sitting across from him.
With a shaking hand, the old boss picked up the pen and signed every page.
