Chapter 10 - The Boss’s Bride (Happy Ending)

Six months later.

The coastal estate in Southern Italy was breathtaking.

Blue ocean waves crashed against white cliffs beneath a cloudless summer sky. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming jasmine, lemon trees, and salty sea breeze.

In the grand garden overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, two hundred guests had gathered. Top business figures, international dignitaries, and loyal family lieutenants sat in rows of white chairs lined with pastel roses.

Soft harp music drifted through the air.

At the altar stood Carmine, looking impossibly handsome in a tailored navy tuxedo. Beside him stood Dominic as his best man, looking proud and sharp.

The music shifted to a grand, swelling processional.

The heavy wooden doors of the villa opened.

Ivy stepped onto the stone pathway.

She was breathtaking. Her wedding dress was a masterpiece of white lace and silk, trailing gracefully behind her over the flower-covered path. A sheer veil covered her face, held in place by a subtle diamond tiara. Her eyes were fixed entirely on the man waiting for her at the end of the aisle.

Carmine’s breath caught in his chest. His heart hammered wildly as he watched his bride walk toward him.

When she reached the altar, Carmine stepped forward, gently lifting her veil.

His dark eyes met her radiant good eye and her soft smile—the bruises of her past completely gone, replaced by glowing health, beauty, and absolute happiness.

"You take my breath away," Carmine whispered softly.

"You saved my life," she whispered back.

The officiant spoke the ancient words of commitment, but for Carmine and Ivy, the vows had already been written months ago in blood, courage, and unconditional protection.

"By the authority vested in me," the officiant announced, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. Carmine, you may kiss your bride."

Carmine didn't hesitate. He pulled Ivy gently by her waist, bringing her close against his chest, and pressed his lips to hers in a deep, passionate kiss that made the entire gathering erupt into joyous applause and cheering.

Later that night, the grand reception lit up the Italian coastline with fireworks and glowing lanterns.

Ivy and Carmine stood on the high stone balcony of the villa, looking out over the sparkling dark ocean. Carmine stood behind her, wrapping his arms securely around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.

Ivy leaned back against his chest, feeling the steady, rhythmic beat of his heart against her back.

She looked down at her hand, where her diamond engagement ring and gold wedding band glittered in the moonlight.

"What are you thinking about, Mrs. Vance?" Carmine whispered close to her ear, his hands resting gently over hers.

Ivy turned her head, looking at his handsome face, tracing the sharp line of his jaw with her fingers.

"I’m thinking about that dark kitchen," she said softly, a gentle smile touching her lips. "I was crying, bleeding, and convinced that my life was over."

Carmine tightened his grip around her, pulling her closer. "And now?"

Ivy smiled, turning in his arms to wrap her hands around his neck, looking into the dark eyes of the man who ruled an empire, but belonged entirely to her.

"Now," Ivy whispered, leaning up to kiss his lips softly, "I know that the dark was just the place where my life finally began."

Carmine kissed her deeply under the starry night sky, holding his bride tight, safe, and loved—forever.
